Terms & Conditions — Chef SOS
1. Service Overview
Chef SOS is a booking and coordination platform that connects clients with independent professional chefs for in-home dining, meal prep, events, and related culinary services. Chef SOS facilitates bookings, payments, and basic verification — chefs remain independent contractors and are not employees of Chef SOS.
2. User Responsibilities (Clients)
By using Chef SOS you agree to:
- Provide accurate and up-to-date information when creating an account or making a booking.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and functional workspace for the chef (working stove, basic utensils, clear surfaces) at the scheduled time.
- Treat chefs and platform staff with respect and professional courtesy.
- Make payments using the platform’s approved payment channels and review charges before confirming a booking.
3. Chef Partner Responsibilities
Chef Partners registered on Chef SOS agree to:
- Provide truthful and accurate information during application and onboarding.
- Maintain food safety and hygiene standards in line with local regulations and best practice.
- Arrive punctually, prepared, and able to perform the service described in the booking.
- Respect client property and privacy, and maintain professional conduct at all times.
- Hold any required certifications (where applicable) and notify Chef SOS of material changes to availability or qualifications.
Chef SOS reserves the right to suspend or deactivate any Chef Partner who breaches these obligations.
4. Payments & Fees
All payments for services booked through Chef SOS must be processed via the platform unless otherwise agreed in writing. Prices shown at checkout include service fees where applicable. Payment schedules for chef payouts and any platform commissions are defined during onboarding and may be updated with prior notice.
5. Cancellations & Refunds
Client cancellations: Cancellation fees may apply depending on the timing of the cancellation. Specific rules will be shown at booking. Chef cancellations: If a chef cancels a confirmed booking, Chef SOS will make reasonable efforts to find a replacement. If a suitable replacement is not available, a refund or alternative arrangement will be offered.
6. Liability
Chef SOS acts as an intermediary platform. We do not employ chefs and are not responsible for the independent actions of users. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Chef SOS is not liable for:
- Personal injury or property damage resulting from negligence of a user or chef.
- Losses caused by incorrect information provided by users or chefs.
- Any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses related to bookings.
We will, however, investigate complaints, mediate disputes where possible, and take reasonable steps to enforce platform standards.
7. Privacy
We collect and use personal data to facilitate bookings, verify chefs, communicate about services, and improve the platform. We do not sell personal data to third parties. Our full Privacy Policy describes what we collect, how we use it, and how you can manage your information.
8. Changes to These Terms
Chef SOS may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Changes will be published on the website with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use of the service after an update indicates acceptance of the revised terms.
